Local Government

The local government of Sweet Springs consists of the Mayor and the City Council. City Zoning follows subdivision ordinance/design standards, and we have a City and County Industrial Development Authority with bonding capacity. The Fire Department has 25 volunteer personnel, and the fire insurance rating is 6 inside the city and 10 outside the city. Sweet Springs employs 3 full-time police officers, and 11 officers work full-time in the county.
